PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 29 July 2026

This page is maintained by the FootballJobs.be team to explain how we handle personal data on FootballJobs.be. It describes our current practices — it is not a certification or an independent audit.

1. Who we are

FootballJobs.be operates a Belgian football job board for clubs and a public showcase where players and staff can present their profile. For any question about this policy you can reach us at privacy@footballjobs.be.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data — your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code or through Google, Facebook or LinkedIn.
  • Profile data — the information you choose to enter: name, location, date of birth, club history, positions, skills, education, languages, availability, travel preferences and your "about" summary.
  • Usage data — basic technical information such as pages viewed and device type, used to keep the site working and improve it.

3. How we use your data

  • To create and maintain your player and/or staff profile.
  • To show your profile in the public showcase and search results, when your profile visibility is switched on.
  • To let clubs and recruiters contact you about opportunities.
  • To publish and manage job listings, and to send you service messages about your account.

4. Profile visibility

Every player and staff profile has a visibility toggle. When it is switched on, your profile is publicly viewable and can be indexed by search engines. When you switch it off, your profile is removed from the showcase, from search on the site, and is no longer served publicly. Search engines may keep a cached copy for some time after you hide your profile.

5. Sharing with others

We do not sell your personal data. Public profile fields are visible to anyone visiting the site while your profile is set to public. Clubs that post jobs see the information you send them when you apply or when they contact you. Most job applications are handled on the club's own website; once you follow an external application link, that club's privacy policy applies.

6. Service providers

We rely on third parties for hosting, email delivery and sign-in with Google, Facebook and LinkedIn. They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes described here.

7. Retention

We keep your profile data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your profile data from the live site. Limited records may be retained where we are legally required to do so.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to processing, and receive a copy in a portable format. You can edit or hide most of your data yourself from your profile. For anything else, contact privacy@footballjobs.be. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority.

9. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. If we add analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for your consent first.

10. Children

Amateur football involves young players. If you are under 16, you need permission from a parent or guardian before creating a profile. Contact us and we will remove any profile created without that consent.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top always shows the current version, and we will highlight significant changes on the site.
